Eleanor’s WELCOME Audio
Hello, Eleanor here, glad you could join me! On my site I am pleased to give you some ideas for making a scrapbook from scratch. I have been scrapbooking for about eight years now and is the one hobby that I have done constantly and not dropped after a year or two! The beauty about scrapbooking is that you don’t have to be arty to produce fantastic looking scrapbook pages. You decide on your own style and for me, this is ‘clean and simple’, although I do admire scrapbookers who can put just about anything on a scrapbook page and make it look like it belongs.
What is Scrapbooking?
Usually people will say they scrapbook to preserve their memories for future generations and that is very true and this is why most scrapbooking materials are acid free and lignen free so they will be preserved in excellent condition for many, many years.
As well as precious photos, an album includes a title, journaling, memorabilia and embellishments. Just click on Make A Scrapbook above to learn more about these steps.
Bigger Than Golf!
Scrapbooking has a huge following around the world, but USA certainly leads the way. It has been said that there are more scrapbookers there than golfers. Go the women!
What Do We Scrapbook About?
Lots of things! Your family holidays. Special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas. Your folks playing with your children. Your children from babies right through to when they finish college…and beyond. Family weddings. Your garden. Special times with friends. Yourself (yes you…your children want to remember you!).
One of the most special albums I made was the day after one of my best friends was killed in a car crash together with her two year old daughter. I found it very emotional but somehow healing to do an album dedicated to them both. You can see a little bit of this album under the tab Totally From Scratch.
Pure Enjoyment
For me personally, scrapbooking was more than just books of memories for future generations. What I most enjoy about scrapbooking is getting together with friends, usually for an entire day, laughing with each other, sharing ideas for page designs, and maybe having a wine or two. So for me, the companionship of this great hobby is the most important thing. It is not nearly so much fun doing it on your own.
There is a Group Near You
There is sure to be a group of scrapbookers in your area who would love to have you join their group. Ask at your local scrapbooking store and they will be able to help.
Give Scrapbooking A Go
You won’t look back and you will wish you had started this hobby a long time ago. Don’t worry if your kids are older now. I’m sure you have photos of their early years lying around gathering dust, and I’m sure you can remember some of the funny, sad and important moments of their lives, and yours. So go ahead…give scrapbooking a go.
All the best, Eleanor.https://s3.amazonaws.com/Jill/scrapbook+audio.mp3
