Title Ideas
It is not for me to tell you what your title might say. Your imagination will be way better than mine! However, I hope you will let me suggest a few things you could do to the title to suit a birthday theme.
The ‘I’ of the world ‘Birthday’ could be made to look like a candle.
With half inch strips and one letter of your title at the bottom of each strip and making the length of your strips various sizes, adhere these to the top of your page (although you can do the same either side or the bottom).
Put your title onto card or chipboard shapes. In the sample below I have used letter stickers to spell ‘Fifty’ for my title. For the figures 50 I have cut the numbers out of the main card. I did this by making the numbers on my computer and printing them out in the size I wanted. this made by template for 50. Then I chose a striped paper and placed this on the back of my main card. I think it gives a good effect.
Put your title on a book plate.
You can use a rub-on for the letter ‘B’ to spell the word ‘Happy’, a little like what I did below.
Try covering your chipboard letters with birthday wrapping paper.
If the person with the birthday has a name with an ‘O’ in it, you can take a photo of the birthday cake (if it is round!) and cut it out to use in their name.
Make a present by cutting out a square piece of card and covering it with birthday wrapping paper with ribbon and bow. Use this in the background of your title.
Cut circles in different colors leaving a small piece at the bottom to look like a balloon. Then put a small length of string to the bottom of each of them to create a bunch of balloons for your background to the title. Alternatively make a few balloons and put the word ‘Happy’ on one of them. You may even have got the birthday person a real balloon and can use an actual photo of this in the title!
Behind ‘Happy Birthday’ cut out numbers of the person’s age in a different color and larger size in the background.
As well as balloons, try making cupcakes (just Google something like ‘cupcake shapes’ and you will find lots of examples to copy), or try making party hats. Party hats would be great shapes to have behind each of your letters in the title, all made from different colors.
Whatever you do with your scrapbook page, remember a birthday layout should be bright and cheerful to reflect the occasion.
