DVD ALBUM

Rating – Easy

This is a really simple but effective album.  You have a ready made blank album to start with…almost.  I don’t need to give you a materials list as there is very little.  Start with a blank DVD cover which can be one you have to spare or you can buy blank covers.  You could use a CD cover but the DVD cover is bigger to give you more scope.  I made this album to show off my garden but it can be any subject.  On a DVD I have picture of my garden taken during all the seasons.  These are not the best pictures taken as I have saved the best to feature in the album.

The cover has a plastic pocket which gives you an excellent place to put your front and back covers.  Keep embellishments to a minimum so the covers slide in easily.

Obviously this is going to be a small album of special pictures either for yourself or to give away as a present.  As I also make handmade cards, I have filled the DVD case with four cards so the recipient can give these away, and made a special card to go in the front cover.

To make the inside album you need card 7¼ inches high and 10 inches wide (A4 card is almost perfect for this purpose).  Fold this card in half so it measures 7¼ x 5 inches.  Now you need another piece to make your concertina album.  This piece is the same height but needs to be 10½ inches wide.  Score the piece of card at the 10 inch mark so you can fold back the extra half inch back. Put a piece of double sided tape on the back of this strip and tape it to the inside edge of the other section.

Now you can decorate your album with photos, journaling and embellishments (keep them flat).  don’t attach the album into the cover.  I find that the clips on the inside left cover work well for holding the album together.  If you didn’t want to leave it like that then you could attach the front cover to the inside left of the cover so it opens out to the right.
